UWE Bristol is working with Caafi Health to understand how we can do health screening tests in the community and whether this health screening and education service helps people get healthier.
The Caafi Health clinical team consists of doctors, nurses and a clinical pharmacist and volunteers. They will use point of care testing equipment (similar to a Glucose Meter) to offer people free tests to check:
- Cholesterol and triglycerides levels
- Sugar levels (HBA1c)
- Kidney function
- Vitamin D levels
- Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) screening and other tests.
Knowing these levels will tell you about your health status and your risks of developing diabetes or heart disease. The clinical team will also advise you on what to do next and ways to stay healthy and/ or get better. All for FREE!

- 2nd February 2024@ Barakah Mall, 48 Stapleton Road, BS5 0RA from 11:00 to 16:30
- 7th February 2024@ Stapleton Baptist Church, Broom Hill, Stapleton, BS16 1DN from 10:00 to 14:00
- 20th February 2024@ Refugee Women of Bristol. Easton Family Centre, Beaufort Street. Easton, BS5 0SQ from 10:00 to 14:00
- 23rd February 2024@ St Pauls Learning Centre, 94 Grosvenor Road, BS2 8XJ from 11:00 to 16:30
